Meet Tamarr Vollmar
Founder of Palmette Training & Consulting

When I was 16, working as a waitress in a local restaurant, a customer told me something that would stick with me for life—that my name, Tamar, was in the Bible and meant palm tree. I didn’t know it then, but that conversation would eventually shape the identity of my life’s work.
Years later, while searching for a name that truly reflected the heart of my business, that memory returned. I knew I wanted a name with meaning—something rooted in strength, growth, and purpose, but not simply my own name. That’s when I discovered the word Palmette—a stylized form of a palm tree, rich in symbolism and legacy.
Palm trees are known for their strength, flexibility, and ability to thrive in even the harshest conditions. They represent endurance, grace under pressure, and the power to rise. The palm also inspired the design of Corinthian columns—pillars of strength and beauty that still stand thousands of years later. Those columns, topped with palm-like leaves, now form the foundation of my logo and the inspiration behind my work.
With over 25 years of leadership and training experience, I’ve committed my life to developing leaders who are resilient, grounded, and capable of lasting impact. I hold a Master’s Degree in Education and a Bachelor’s Degree in Organizational Management, and I’m a certified Life Coach, Financial Coach, Speaker, and Trainer. My work blends practical leadership development with deep personal growth—helping individuals and teams lead with clarity, compassion, and courage.

Tamarr decided to create Palmette Training and Consulting due to a strong desire to help others reach their true potential. She most recently was the Professional Business Training & Development Manager at Potawatomi Carter Casino Hotel and decided it was time to go out on her own. She has her Bachelors Degree in Business Organization, and Masters Degree in Education with an emphasis on online teaching and learning. She has held management positions including Human Resources Manager for over twenty years and has been actively training and consulting with businesses around Wisconsin for over fifteen years, using her own uniquely developed training package.
Tamarr has received her certification as a teacher through the Wisconsin Technical College System and has also earned the status as Master Trainer and Training Manager/Director through Langevin Learning Services. Through the years, Ms. Vollmar has become a Microsoft Office Specialist and offers training in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook and One Note. She recently has successfully completed the John C. Maxwell Certification and is a Coach, Teacher, Trainer and Speaker. (click picture above to go to that website.)
Tamarr has been an adjunct faculty member at Nicolet Area Technical College since 2004, and with Northcentral Technical College in 2012. She has provided training for area businesses such as Harley Davison, EO Johnson, Northwoods NiiJii Enterprise
Community, Inc. and (FISTA) Forest Industry Safety & Training Alliance, Inc.
